Mermaids purse table

A couple of friends, who holiday regularly on their rather nice boat, asked me to make them a dining table for their kitchen. It wasn't to be just any old table but something that would remind them of their favourite pastime.
With water being my inspiration I remembered my childhood holidays in Cornwall, walking on the beach at low tide, finding a magical mermaids purse and watching the wave tops sparkle in the sun.
So, that mermaid's purse inspired the shape of the table top. The glass discs, like the waves, allow you to see through them whilst also reflecting the light.

Table dimensions: 1900 mm long by 860 mm wide
Finished in clear laquer or hardwearing citrus oil
